Dr. Gnawali is a Senior Divisional Hydrologist at Water and Energy Commission Secretariat, Government of Nepal. He completed his PhD in water resources engineering from Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea. He has more than 14 years of professional experience in the field of Water Resources. Apart from his professional career, he has also experience of academic carrier being lecturer in different colleges in Nepal. Currently, Dr. Gnawali has been actively involved in the preparation of the River Basin Plans and Hydropower Development Master Plans and Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA) in all river basins of Nepal. He is also involved in developing an optimization framework for the real time optimal intake of water from diverse sources in Kathmandu Valley, Analysis of Flood, Drought and Climate change in Nepal and in preparing Water Resources Development Strategy and action plans for the Kamala River Basin, Nepal. He is a focal person for SDG 6.5.1 IWRM implementation in Nepal, Global Water Leadership in a Changing Climate Programme (2021~2024) and water tracker tool implementation in Nepal.
