Mr. Sanjeeb Baral is a Joint Secretary of Government of Nepal and currently working as Deputy Director General in Department of Water Resources and Irrigation. He worked as Province Secretary of Bagamati Province. He has more than 18 years of experience in hydropower, irrigation and water resources sector. He was a Project Director in BheriBabai Diversion Multipurpose Project (a National Pride Project), Water Resources Project Preparatory Facility (WRPPF) and Budhi Ganga Hydropower Project. He worked as Senior Divisional Engineer in Ministry of Energy, Department of Electricity Development (DoED) and Hydropower Investment and Development Company Ltd. He worked in Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and in Butwal Power Company (BPC) as a hydropower engineer.

Er. Sanjeeb Baral has pursued Master’s in Water Resources Engineering from IOE, Pulchowk Campus, TU and also obtained MBA (executive) degree in ACE Institute of Management, Pokhara University, Nepal.

Mr. Baral was awarded with Service Excellence Award (SUPRABAL JANASEWA SHREE) by Government of Nepal and “Youth Professional Award-2012” by Nepal Engineer’s Association (NEA). He has completed Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program - Fulbright Fellowship Program from Cornell University, NY, USA on 2016-2017.
